When It Comes to Hiring a Wedding DJ,
Here Are 8 Key Things To Consider:
Find a Professional: Have a conversation with the DJ to understand their experience and see examples of their work.
WiFi Dependence: WiFi can be unreliable, so choose a dj who's main song library is on hard drive so there are no interruptions.
Preferred Communication: Find out your DJ’s preferred communication method. Whether it’s email, phone calls, texting, or in-person meetings, clear communication ensures a smooth process leading up to your big day.
Guest List Details: Let your DJ know who will be attending. Share age groups and musical tastes, so together you can tailor the playlist and create a memorable experience for everyone.
Song Requests: It’s great to have a play list, and a DO NOT PLAY list, and your DJ should be able to handle all your requests. Also consider allowing them to read the crowd and adjust the music accordingly. Dance the night away until the end of your reception with great music and a circle dance at the end for a great send off! Enjoy everything from Motown to Modern, 40's, 50's & 60's to Disco and 80's to 90's. Or I'll stick to your playlist and only play what you want.
What's Included in the Price: When you get a price quote, it should cover everything. Ask if ceremony, travel, lodging, set-up times, and consultations are included in the price.
Vendor Deliveries and Setup time: Coordinate with vendors for arrival times.
Creating a Timeline and Using the Microphone: Developing a timeline is important. This helps create a flow and makes sure special extras get done. It's also important to tell your DJ if you want them active on the microphone or more conservative.
Remember, being a well-informed client and having a well-prepared DJ can make your wedding reception unforgettable!
